Position Overview:

Astound Broadband is currently searching for a Business Development Manager for our Seattle, WA market. This position is responsible for obtaining ROE (right of entry) agreements as part the Astound Business Development team to meet or exceed company targets and objectives. The Business Development team objectives include obtaining Right of Entry Agreements with Building Owners by proactively prospecting & fostering business relationships with developers, property managers, and building owners throughout the area. The Business Development Manager will negotiate building access agreements with these clients to formalize the relationship with Astound and ensure top quality service to achieve their individual goals. When required, the Business Development Manager will also represent the Company at trade association meetings and conferences. This position is expected to effectively interface, and work with Cross-Functional / partner organizations in the Company including, but not limited to: deployment / construction teams, account management / direct sales teams, billing, programming, accounts payable, finance department(s), other sales teams and marketing.

The primary position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Negotiate Access Agreements for apartment and condominium buildings, meeting/exceeding quarterly targets for number of buildings/units assigned
  • Build relationships with strategic industry and market partners and organizations
  • Work effectively with sales engineering/network deployment team to ensure timely review, assessment and deployment of all leads and improvement of processes and procedures
  • Work effectively with Commercial, Enterprise, Direct Sales and SMB (in mixed use scenarios) teams to effectively plan and optimize building handoffs post ROE closing
  • Market planning – Proactively prospect at all times, be aware of new leads and potential target buildings, current or future, to include (but not limited to) the following activities:
  • Neighborhood walkthroughs
  • Review of trade and online publications
  • Initiating and attending networking events
  • General up to date knowledge of the multifamily market within territory
  • General Proactive “Smart Calling” efforts & more
  • Attend various relevant business and association functions within territory, including some evening or weekend events, travel within market as needed as well as occasional overnight travel as needed
  • Convey / report building lead information fairly and efficiently to MDU ROE Regional Manager and ensure property data is entered accurately and timely in CRM (SUGAR)
  • Review ROI and Contract details with MDU ROE Regional Management and within team reports
  • Ensure ROI, CAR (BOM) and Agreements accurately represent each opportunity and submit opportunity through deal approval process with internal finance / leadership team(s)
  • Maintain and demonstrate a current knowledge of Astound products, programming, promotional offers, technology and deployment specifications
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times
  • Manage CRM systems, process, and quality of data
  • Produce CRM output reports as requested by management
  • Highly effective maintenance of sales funnel records, logging notes, contact information & activities
  • Project a professional business manner and operate with a high degree of integrity
  • Perform other duties as requested

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
  • 5+ years prior experience managing assigned territory / footprint with main goal, emphasis & focus being New Business account acquisitions
  • A proven measurable track record of autonomously filling pipelines & building business from ground up
  • Experience working in Telecommunications/Real Estate/Property Management highly desired
  • Aptitude for, and ability to articulate the technology aspects and competitive advantages related to telecom
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as this position is responsible for ensuring potential customers understand the features and benefits of all Astound products and the pricing and promotional offers available
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work within Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as cloud based systems such as Google Drive, Gmail, Google Sheets, Docs & more
  • Ability to work with and manage CRM systems
  • Proven measurable track record of being able to be successful reach attainment goals while working remotely, autonomously, independently, with minimal supervision
  • Excellent detail orientation and follow through skills
  • Strong discretionary skills; this position will have access to information of a confidential nature
  • Ability to frequently drive, walk, bend and reach
  • Ability to be occasionally exposed to inclement weather
  • Ability to be occasionally exposed to frequent uneven surfaces, hills, stairs, heights
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phone, copiers
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis (sales materials)
  • Ability to have the flexibility to work within non-standard business hours ranging between 8a.m. and 9p.m. within all 7 days per week to ensure sales quota is met
  • Ability to travel significantly to client / prospective client locations within assigned market / territory
  • Ability to occasionally travel, up to 10%, overnight to client headquarters when located out of local area, as well as annual Educational Industry & Client Networking Conferences as required

The base salary range in Washington for this position is $67,000.00 - $87,00.000, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.
